"Victory" (full name: 50 yrs since Victory) a improved Arktika class Nuclear Icebreaker travells to the North Pole (TVE - Ireland feature) followed by a picture/footage compilation.

Russia is the only operator of a Nuclear Icebreaker fleet. The 2nd Soviet Nuclear Icebreaker "Arktika" was the first ship to sail all the way to the North Pole in 1977. For more info on these ships visit the following links:

  • Pretty soon these ships will be pointless. Let's just keep pretending there's no problems, and soon we won't have to worry about the northern ice cap in late summer.

  • @IstasPumaNevada

Not in our lifetimes....there's a lot of media hysteria and political agendas involved with the so called global warming. Europe is experiencing one of it's fiercest winters this year with extreme sub zero temperatures and massive snow drifts...not exactly a sign of global warming

  • @Husar101 A warmer global average temperature means more heat being distributed, which means more severe weather events and more precipitation, including snowfall. So yes, exactly evidence of global warming, regardless of the cause.

The increasing average global temperature and the vast majority of glaciers receding are both facts, not speculation.

So is the fact that nine of the top ten warmest years on record for global average temperature (since ~1880) were in the past 11 years.

  • @IstasPumaNevada

    I've heard all that.

I'm a sceptic when it comes to all those reports. They are skewed to justify a certain agenda and other conflicting data is either ignored or suppressed.

There are cycles in nature and space that affect the climate. The planet is a self regulatory organism/system. I would be more worried about polution, over population and it's effects on nature rather than falling for some propaganda about carbon control designed to justify carbon trading scams

  • what are they putting there in 09:44 ?

  • @Hallo503

probably unloading fuel and other supplies for the station

and I hope yopu grow up one day and stop making silly comments.

A portion of the Arctic is Canada's but Russia's is bigger. There are several contenders in that game. Russia, USA, Canada, Norway, Denmark and lately China is making it's presence felt as well even though it's not an Arctic nation.

  • Is it just me or do all of these words go perfectly together

  • @Husar101 I think carbon trading is bullsh*t, indeed a scam as you call it. But so are oil subsidies in the face of record profits and record petroleum product prices. I don't think we need to ban oil, and I don't ignore the increased lack of cold snaps here in the northern Rocky Mountains. Or the glaciers receding.

Questioning is good, desirable, necessary, paramount. But if you're going to ignore the majority of evidence, well... You'll only know what you want to know.

  • @Husar101 By definition, pumping excessive CO2 into the atmosphere is pollution.

There's a natural carbon cycle that generates and absorbs CO2.

It is a greenhouse gas (lets in visible light, traps heat).

CO2 levels now are 30% higher than any peak in the last 400k years, and have been rising exponentially since the Ind. Revolution due to human activity.

There is a hot and cold cycle, but we're already at Earth's warm peak (and were already at historical peak CO2 levels).

  • @Husar101 Skepticism is good, but it's not skepticism to keep denying in the face of evidence.

There will be scams taking advantage to make money, for instance Al Gore has financial interests (though it could be argued to let your money follow your beliefs). But the vast majority of scientists knowledgeable on the subject agree.

Profiteers following findings don't invalidate the findings. And there's certainly proof of misinformation campaigns in the other direction, Heartland Institute for ex.

  • @cublifeproductions It's not just you :)

  • Awesome Video Cheers for the upload :)

  • So this is what they're sending to Nome alaska to aid the people there with fuel...thats crayy
