Wow, they all speak English and the wards are clean!!!
A lot has changed since my day. what a shame!!!!

I started nursing about this time. Standards were better then, but it was a lot more disciplined than it is today. Nursing has been made more complex than it should.
As I always told my Student Nurses - you don't need a degree to wipe someones backside. Uniforms looked smart then - not like the excuses for uniforms now.

If you look at many of the ambo's in the series and even the ones in the titles, you'll see they were the West Midlands Ambulances working the streets of Coventry, where the Walsgrave Hospital itself was, I remember seeing red striped patient transport ambo's just like those, that's maybe why they changed it to Brum, also if you look at the outline of the fictional Heath Green Hospital, then google image an old picture of the now demolished Walsgrave Hospital, it's the same place clearly.

It was originally set in St Angela's Hospital in Battersea, that's where the title comes from.
Later the setting was shifted to Health Green Hospital (in Birmingham), but I've no idea why they relocated the series.

@x8lover yes I agree, + "Angels" is acting, it's not based on any real characters.
Still, nursing standards are still high in the UK, British nurses are professional, in comparison with greece where i live.
Here, the nurses are ogres, it may sound OTT but it is, unfortunately.

When does she duck his sick?
Angels and British posthumous narcism is one of the only resons I keep laughing at America's "Alice" version. Ended up 69ing with the Brittish rejected one while Canada took photos thinking "should we say something"?

This was what nursing was like when I started. But one student nurse being bossy to another is not exactly right. You might have got it from sister though. We had time then to talk to patients but patient education was a bit hit and miss. Thankfully this is part of nurses role today. We are not less caring its just that the job has become a lot more complex than what you see on angels.

I loved this series. It introduced me to a profession I have been allied to for 26 + years!
Are there are more clips for Angels (the series) on YouTube? Would love to see them.
