Conversation with Death

This is called 'Conversation with Death' or 'Oh Death Oh Death', from Songcatcher, an old folk song. If you haven't seen Songcatcher, most of these pictures won't make sense.

Please no mean comments, it takes a lot of courage to be able to post these publicly, but if you have some helpful advice for me to improve my singing (other than not to sing through my nose. Kind of not an option when you have a deviated septum) I would be appreciative if you'd share.

It sounds lovely! I didn't even realize until I expanded the caption that this wasn't from the movie soundtrack. Only thing I could suggest is taking your time on the longer notes in the phrase. Ballads like this are most powerful when they flow at their own pace and don't follow a regular beat. I've met a number of traditional singers who won't sing accompanied for that reason. It's a very small thing, but it could make a gorgeous performance even stronger. Thanks for sharing!
