This was the record that got me into Beck, and it's still my favourite. What an album! The first track sounds like they've been drinking whisky and suddenly were compelled to tune the guitar to slide tuning in a god damn hurry and launch into a gospel opener. That one badly tuned string on that track makes the whole album sound like a redneck gonzo hellhole-ride through american blues and country and gritty shotgun music in general. American album of the 90's, all genres! Hands down, done deal!
