Not cyclists, to be sure. The helmet mounted camera catches some candidates for Darwin Awards, as I make another errand run on my Focus Designs Self Balancing Unicycle. Being on the sidewalk gives a new perspective to all other traffic, including ridiculous people on bikes endangering all road users.

The first candidate is riding against traffic, in the "cycle lane" which has arrows painted for proper direction of travel. He's headed to an area of many intersections, heavy traffic and high speeds.

The second clip shows two more candidates, approaching a light that cycles from green to yellow to red, and rolling straight through it. One of the riders is performing this activity without any hands on the bars, further improving chances of Darwin's law of natural selection. The truck driver apparently is aware of these clowns heading his way and holds position until they pass.

So sad. They survived.

  • @Nolanwh, unskilled rider ride on the sidewalk without realizing how dangerous it is. Skilled and trained riders recognize the dangers and ride on the road. Many cities prohibit cycling on sidewalks for good reason.

Consider to look for League of American Bicyclist instructors in your area, become a skilled cyclist and become safer in the process.

  • @Nolanwh, I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but if you are suggesting that sidewalks are for bicycles, you are incorrect.

  • @TheJimDandy2008 most idiots ride like that in seattle.

  • um... what?

  • @f8757, it is not illegal to operate a bicycle on the sidewalk in the state of FL, but cities are permitted to override that law if signs are posted, as is often the case in downtown areas. If your comment was directed at my operation on the sidewalk, you'll note that I was on a unicycle, not a bicycle and I prefer to operate in the roadway because it is safer.

  • @freddotu Actually if you would like to quote traffic regulations it is also illegal in most states to ride a bike on the sidewalk and if you are operating at more than 5mph it is actually proven safer to ride with the flow of traffic on the road and not on the sidewalk

  • @goodkill1, you don't have to view my videos. It's not the internet's fault that you can't be selective.

    User blocked for unwarranted profanity.

  • @goodkill1, it's consistent that under-educated cyclists have plenty of dangerous misconceptions about safe operation of a bicycle. You probably are not educated enough to recognize that you are a hazard to other road users but you don't give a f**k about that. Twenty years of riding and you still don't have a clue. You also don't have a voice on my videos anymore, but that's not a loss to me or to you, I'm sure.

  • BTW your videos suck. It's not the internet's fault your city has shitty drivers.

  • @freddotu I don't give a fuck about traffic laws. Its simple, I'll always ride to best protect myself in any situation involving vehicles. You dont have eyes in the back of your head. Theres nothing you can do on a bike thats going to prevent you from getting hit by a car while riding w/traffic. I have ridden for 20 yrs in my city which has some of the worst drivers in Fl. Ive never been ticketed while riding on sidewalks. Our police officers are too busy stopping real crimes to be that petty.

  • @goodkill1, I don't owe you anything. The use of your time is your responsibility, not mine.

If you are in the USA and you are riding against traffic, you are in violation of statues and should be cited. You apparently are not aware of how much danger you are in. It's likely that you may see your death approaching and be able to do nothing about it.

  • Too be honest I ride against traffic all the time, I'd rather see my death coming, thank you. BTW, quit your bitching. It's true the 2 idiots riding through a red light should have been hit but it's neither your problem or your fault. so get a life.

You owe me 23 seconds of my life.
