  • She has a 1641 tuned engine. Couldn't say how fast but cruises at 70. Drives beautiful!

  • @DirkjeA Hah! If you are able to come to the UK you can take a ride in this one. It has the smell of genuine vinyl seat covers which I think you will remember. Oil cooled engines sound quite different and maybe better than water-cooled. The garage mechanic loves the car 'because you can see exactly how it all works'.... nothing electronic or mysterious. He learned his job on Type 3s and this car brought back happy memories for him too. Poor fuel consumption but I don't care.

  • We only have one set of keys for this car (one with a blue ribbon attached). Could we please have the other keys shown here (in case we lose the ones we have).

    Please message me!

  • New exhaust system fited yesterday, some attention to the carbs.... and it runs (and sounds) great. Thinking about adding a brake servo to bring the brakes up to modern standards. At the moment its a question of pushing hard on the brake pedal while pulling at the steering wheel to get a good 'bite' on the raod!

This car is real fun. Some work on the gear shift next (to take out the slightly excessive backslash). 'Wish it was my car and not my daughter and husband's!

  • A Volkswagen Beatle was my fathers first car when I was a little girl. Then he bought a Vw 1500 tpe 3 he was realy proud of. I remember us going on holidays with it, it took 2 days to get from Holland to Italy, but we all loved that car. Mmm, right now he drives Toyota ahhhhhhhhhh... ;-) Steffan, thanks for sending.

  • The Dual Quiet is kind of life-expired now and we are taking the opportunity to remove the J Pipe and take it back to the original spec. Ie two heat exchangers so the heater works again! Also cured some rust, which isn't a major problem in this car. Anybody know what the colour is called so I can match it exactly?

  • @SteffanLlwyd PS a few jobs to do on it but nothing serious. Does anybody know if you can add a brake servo to improve braking and bring it closer to modern standards?

  • Soooo pleased that you posted this video. My daughter just bought it and it is just fabulous. Sounds gorgeous and turns heads. Favourited. Is the exhaust to the original pattern? (Know nothing about VWs myself but I know what I like)

  • nice how fast dose it go

  • oh...my...god.
