Luther Doberman Head Tremor/Bobbling Syndrome

This condition started Dec 26th 2009. It happens when he is falling asleep. It lasts seconds to several minutes. If anyone has any information on how to treat this condition with food, exercise, herbal or otherwise, Anti -convulsion drugs are not effective with this condition. I would appreciate any input as it is not a well known condition and not a lot of research has been done.

UPDATE: It is now March 12 approximately 2.5 months after Luther's first episode. He has gone from having about 5 episodes a day to about 1 every 3rd day. It tapered slowly to this, but all is well. Treats do help to snap him out if it.

I don't normally tell him "enough" The reason for this was that the vet wanted to see a video of his head tremors, and I wanted to show him that they could be stopped. The vet had never seen nor even heard of his condition.

You can stop this by giving your dober a treat, but don't tell Luther that it is enough, because he will think you are mad at him........ I have a 7½ year old male who do the same thing, and we stop it by giving him something to chew on.

Some people swear by giving something with Vitamin B in it when the tremor starts. A hunk of freeze dried liver would work well, or some mackerel out of a can. Hope it works for you!
