Comic Con 2011 - Kung Fu Panda Part 2

Meet the second installment from Nickelodeon + DreamWorks. And meet the sounds-like-Jack-Black-in-the-same-way-Danny-Jacobs-sounds-like-Sacha-Baron-Cohe­n voice actor behind Po: Mick Wingert.

This year, there was a full-on panel for Kung Fu Panda. Mick Wingert (Po) was there, along with James Hong (Mr. Ping), John DiMaggio (Fung), and Fred Tatasciore (Master Shifu).

Due to a request from Nickelodeon, I cannot show you any footage from the episode that aired at Comic Con. I also cannot show you any of the storyboard animatics that they showed us.

@darkwolf9408 For the movies, yes. But for the TV series, it's Mick Wingert. Obviously, Nickelodeon can't afford to have Jack Black do the voice for every episode. It's the same thing with Penguins, where Danny Jacobs replaced Sacha Baron Cohen as the voice of King Julien.

@SakuraWhish My mom, who basically NEVER watches TV, and I'm not 100% positive of how much of the Kung Fu Panda movie(s) she's even seen, walked downstairs while we were watching it, and after 2 seconds of his voice, she was like, "That is not Jack Black anymore." I was like what the heck? I thought it still was! ha ha

@voiceactingfan Same thing with Kevin Michael Richardson replacing Cedric the Entertainer for Maurice, Jeff Benett as Kowolski, and you know, other voices.

The theme song is always the best part! I love how much he got into the character of Po while he was singing and wearing the panda head mask lol
