I lived in Joplin. We moved to New Mexico after the tornado. That night was horrible, me and my husband were asleep and our two sons were at a graduation party after graduating that afternoon. One of my sons called and told me to turn on the news and that sirens were going off. So i did and a warning was out. I told my boys to get home, but it was to late. The Tornado struck. We all lived but we did not get reunited for 4 days when my sons we found knocked out in the Home Depot.
You hear stories all the time after violent tornadoes about people not being able to find their house or recognize the neighborhood where they spent their entire lives, but I never truly understood how that was possible. Even seeing countless before and after pictures (most of them from the air) doesn't really help one comprehend how that is possible, but after seeing this video, I can absolutely understand. This really brings a whole new meaning to the word "devastation".
@foilseal First off, at least I don't spend my free time cyber bullying people who have lost some of their friends, family members, and houses in a horrible natural disaster, who have done absolutely no wrong to me. You write your snide bullshit from a dark room because that's what the angry do nowadays. Second, I'm not from Joplin anyways, I'm from St. Louis county. I was in Joplin for business and I just happened to be there right when the tornado hit.
