I predict Maddux will become the first player to have his hat split in half.
Or Coop will make up for the Dawson slight because the Expos had a horrible time trying to get Hall of Famers.
Maddux was the greatest baseball player of this era.

@Jbrosrock77, how is he your uncle? You do know that he is only your uncle if he is your dad or mother's brother.

Go Atlanta braves

Maddox had a chance to sign with the Yanks but he was a little leary of the wear that an American League East summer could do to his health and legacy. The chicken choose the senior circuit and a nice little retirement deal in Atlanta; what a coward.

i'll be curious to see what his vote percentage will be for the hall. entry on the first ballot is obvious, but seeing a handful of clowns voting no on cal ripken and tony gwynn a couple years ago reminded us that there are silly politics going on up there. whoever votes no on greg, and there will be a few who do, would be very hard pressed to justify it. he was as good as they make 'em, in every way.

i got tix to the braves vs. cubs game on april 8th in atlanta. i hope it's maddux vs. tim hudson or tom glavine!

went to his last start ever at wrigley field in 2008, i specificly got seats behind the Padres bullpen to watch him warm up, got a standing ovation when he left the mound. glad he is back with the cubs organization
maddux will always be a brave, buddy. he was filthy in atlanta and loved pitching with smoltz and glavine. the braves in the 90's had some of the best pitching staffs of all time, ad maddux was a huge part of that. the cubs blow and will never win a world series. they should just move cities or just permanently end the franchise and only have the sox in Chicago. fuck the cubs

The Cubs have won the World Series before, bud.
And I didn't create the video to get into a debate about which team Maddux belonged to. Everyone knows he's going to the Hall as a Brave. Doesn't mean he wasn't/isn't adored by Cubs fans.

I was at Wrigley for the last game he pitched as a Cub. It was against the Cardinals and he got the win. When he was comming out of the game he got a huge standing ovation. We all knew that it was probably his final game as a Cub. I am proud that us Cub fans showed him the appreciation that he deserved. I am still pissed off that the Cubs let him go. I have alot of respect for him. I think other players should model themselves after Mad Dog the way he carried himself. A true proffesional!

Still remember that. My neighbor was there. I was seriously jealous. There's a picture at 1:38 in the video of Maddux walking off in that final game.

is he dead or has he left the team?

lol, No, he isn't dead. He came up on the Cubs, left for free agency and returned in the twilight of his career to try to get the Cubs over the hump. He then left again and is now retired. His number was recently retired and hangs on one of the foul poles at Wrigley.
