@WoobaOne I agree with that first statement.Gavin DeBecker(book "The Gift of Fear") has said the same on Oprah:Never let yourself be taken to another location.We respect Elizabeth for surviving & having the guts to get up & testify & try to put her life back together.Many rape victims never do that after 1 attack,let alone 9 months of it.What bothers me that women seem to warrant rewards only when they suffer & survive but not for using their wits to avoid getting victimized.in the first place.

@Lizfan2 You're absolutely right.Such kids often shut down & freeze when threatened..Afraid to fight back due to being taught to be submissive.Humans are the only animals that will purposely train their offspring out of the inborn instinct for self defense & self preservation. I know Elizabeth's parents have gone thru hell knowing it was their training that made her vulnerable.I've talked to kids who've said that man would NEVER have taken them from their families without a fight.
