  • So what? The people in Brian's band are NOT original members either.

  • Check out Bruce's work with Terry Melcher and you'll find he did help invent the "surf sound"or Sunshine Pop sound associated best with the BB. During the low points he has been a stalwart. I give him credit for putting up with Mike Love for as long as he has. BTW Tears In the Morning and Disney Girls are just as strong as a BW or DW song.

  • Mike Love, ppft what a ball bag. Bruce is cool.

  • Well he wrote disney girls (1957).

  • Yep, I cannot disagree with the main thrust of the commentary collected here. Mike has always been the egomaniac expedient opportunist. He's always been jealous of Brian's soaring talent !! Mike Love can't play an instrument, and he's caught forever in a frozen time-tunnel - as if it was still 1964. His catchcry was always "Don't fuck with the formula, Brian - just keep the dollars rollin' in". What a schmuck. His surname belies his true character.

  • The loss of Dennis and Carl was a drag? I think it was more than that. Mike Love = dick. Brian was the creative influence and will always be the Beach Boys, not these two mickey mouse characters. What on earth did Bruce have to do with the tracks on Warmth of the Sun???

  • As noted below . . . Bruce is NOT and original member.

  • well bruce had nothing to do with how the group started and how they came up with their california sound. He is just a lucky bastard that got to relpace Brian who he freaked out in 64 then him and mike have been love buddies ever since. He orignally wasnt supose to replace brian, He just got tangled up in it all by luck.
