  • As a regular asian 25 year old I do not have access to great old music such as this.. The media (TV, Radio) only broadcasts lame 'modern' pop music.

In fact I have just heard about Jessie Hill a couple of days ago due to random search on Youtube.

So please, PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS ONE! For the sake of introducing golden old music to young generation such as I

  • In the early 60's the crowd loved when this was played..my husband played guitar in a band..got the ppl moving! Love it!

  • @TomParmenter i think it is Allen Toussaint on piano

  • @TomParmenter Thank you! I was never sure how explain this to younger musicians. The crack.....perfect!

  • Our fraternity band played this song at all parties. Hello Steve Bennett wherever you are.

  • Rochester Legion PIttsburgh Pa.do the slop to this with the music blasting( priceless)!

  • i bout wore this record out as a kid ... ♥

  • every now and then a record comes along that has that extra special something about it and you instantly like it and I am glad the very talented offspring of Jessie Hill are keeping it going STRONG!!!

  • @dar4869 It was a mod anthem in Brighton back in the '60's, great to hear it again!

  • This is not doo-wop. This is classic New Orleans "in the crack" music. ("The crack" is the magic place between a swing beat and straight eight beat.)

Tenor sax Raymond Hill, who played on Rocket 88 and Junior Parker's Mystery Train. I expect this is Huey Smith on piano.

  • Hot soul!!!!!

  • I still have this 45. Played it plenty. Thanks for the post.
