Chris Cain (from San Jose, California) is one of the best, if not the best, blues guitarists and singers we have ever heard. This clip is the second song of his appearance for the Kentucky Blues Society http://www.kyblues.com at WhaBah Steakhouse on Monday, August 31, 2009.

  • Nice mixture of Blues, Jazz, Rock and other stuff coming together to form one great sound!

  • @zenith2070 I've been playing in Black bands for many many years. Chitlin circuit is all but gone and most younger African American brothers don't care for the blues. They consider it square and corny. I will say that a few are keeping it modern and interesting though... check out The Soul of John Black for one... But I hear what you are saying. The community has, for the most part, become something else. Besides, Chris Cain is half black and half Greek and all good. :)

  • @redshark1105 It is one of those deals where first he would do an instrumental and you'd likely think...well maybe he can't sing...lol. And then blammo... you just start crying. ;) But seriously, you follow this kind of act by not trying to be that kind of act. That's what pros know. ;Music isn't sports... imho.

  • It amazing me that Chris has never gotten a BMA nom or Grammy nom for that matter. He is that good! Smokin!!!

  • Like a Jazzy Albert King-love it!

Love the piano solo too, some Herbie Hancock -ish playing.

  • what happened to all the brothas that used to play blues

  • @3117ss

I think this is one of those players that the pro's don't want to have openning their shows...how can you follow this act?

  • can't someone get him on clapton's crossroads thingy...he deserves much broader exposure...killer chops

  • wow thats some killer playing i can hear that Albert King influance nice!!!
