First of London-born, Chicago-raised David's 'Holiday' scores. Described as 'perfect shopping music'!.
Both sides recorded in 1944, but this disc came out four years later.
'Laura' is from the film-noir, also 1944, which starred Vincent Price, Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney in the female lead.

  • Workaholics Throw ya hands in the air XD

  • It always interested me that Red Skelton liked it so much, he used at his closing theme, in deference to David Rose, his orchestra leader.

  • Vamos rodar o peão da casa própria!

  • Shimmering delight and longing.

  • I love Holiday For Strings!! I don't think I've ever seen it on 78. Great post. :-)
