Not sure what you mean @missinglowell about Carlene being a Brit expat. She is American from Tennesse and lived in the UK when she met and married Nick Lowe but returned to the US after the divorce in the mid-late 80's. Thus she was a US expat living in UK at the time of this video.
interesting comments below - not surprising they'd be joining talents - Carlene was a Brit expat married in the 80's to Rockpile's Nick Lowe, a peer of Carrack's - never thought she was as talented as her more roots country step sister, Rosanne Cash, but I'm willing to hear out anything that Paul lends his talents to! WHAT a talent! New album is a treat!
Well I know nothing of Carlene Carter but I know about Paul Carrack,Wrote for Mike and the Mechanic`s, Squeeze and the Eagles.
Check PC, dont miss "behind those eyes of blue", did Paul contribute to the "Hell Freezes Over" album, yes, Did he Contribute to the Road from Eden Album, Yes he did
I hope you see lots of Paul, Paul and Timothy B Shmit were playing a song together in January of this year in England and Paul wrote the song
I saw this as a kid while watching TV with my parents. I remember Mom and Dad saying "she sure ain't as good as June and Johnny". But I dug it. Can't believe I found it on YouTube.
her voice seems a little off....not bad...just a little off from the way it is on her records and cd ..like the record verson sounds better but then she might have been a lot of shows when this was sung I have heard some where her voice is very off and she would say she was sorry about it but she had done a lot of show and her troat ( sorry for the spelling my mind isn't woring yet ) was sore but she is pretty good all in all
Too bad there wasn't more radio attention for this one off "Blue Nun", but that would have had to have been one of those happy accidents of discovery. It likely wasn't in her label's wherewithall to promote it heavily. "Do Me Lover" also from that album, later ended up on "The Carrack Collection," as it was an original, but there was room on that disc for this one.

This song came out almost 30 years ago; Country singers were collaborating with rockers even back then!
