This live version of "Immortal Invisible" was part of Martyn Layzell's set at Clan Gathering 2007 in St Andrews, Scotland. Martyn's band featured Mark Hamilton (Doug Walker, Quench, Josh Doyle) on guitar and Tim Cooke (One Hundred Hours) on drums.

Although the band had never even played together prior to the gig and much of the material was new and so had to be sight read, thankfully it all came together.

The song featured in this clip is taken from Martyn's album "Turn My Face"

  • Do you mean clan like a family clan in Scotland? In the states, a "clan gathering" has a different meaning (as in the Ku Klux Klan). You may get more views if you change it to "family reunion" or something.

  • funny! It's a huge annual event in Scotland called "Clan Gathering" named after the Scottish clans (you were right!). In fairness the Scottish clans pre-date the KKK by centuries! I'm sure most intelligent Americans will work this out. Perhaps we can distinguish between this and KKK videos if THEY change their titles to "Ignorant Racist Hateful Bigots with brains the size of Peanuts" ...just to avoid any confusion!

  • Americans also call a tap a fawset, a nappy a dyper, a path a sidewalk, a boot a trunk, a homosexual a fag (where as a fag in the UK is a cigarette)...which caused much confusion when I once told an American I had just 'had' a fag.

Gradually Americanisations are coming over to the UK and destroying English words... Don't apologise or change the word Clan. Be proud of the English language... and who knows maybe a KKK supporter will visit this video and be saved from their bitter hateful lives.

  • From what I've read, they might have attributed that meaning after the fact, but they just thought it sounded cool in the beginning. I could be wrong. I don't claim to be an expert on bigotry.

  • I thought "Ku Klux" came from the greek "kuklos" meaning "circle"? Either way, this is a great version of this hymn. Thanks for sharing :)

  • CLAN actually stands for Christians Linked Across the Nations.

It is just a shame that the film crew did not come up to the youth venue, we were on fire for Jesus. It is nice to see some of the people from the church that I belong to :-)

  • Of course I know the Scottish clans pre-date the Klan by centuries. That is what the Klan is named after. There aren't that many intelligent Americans left. I wish they'd change their name, but they're going to hide behind it just like their sheets. The Ku Klux part of the name doesn't even mean anything.
