The peel is thin, smooth and greenish-yellow when ripe. The flesh is also greenish-yellow and full of highly poly embryonic seeds (two or more plants from one seed). The interior is divided by 10 to 12 segments, quite juicy and has a higher acidity than regular Persian limes. Key limes have a very distinctive aroma, which makes them valuable for culinary use.

I have not heard of that, the fruit has the juice that great for cooking fish, making adult beverages and ofcourse my favorite KEY LIME PIE.\
Kaffir lime or Tai Lime plants are the leaves used for cooking, and some hard core Asian food cooks use some of the juice or rind of the fruit from Kaffir lime with super hot chiles, to make a sauce hot enough to burn you a new HOLE!!!
