It iz important to know where I came from becauz MY History IZ Indestructible. NObody can do IT like Me.
I'm getting ready for another exhibition for the VEIL SHOW era. So I've been packing and unpacking and I stumbled upon some ov my really early work which I thought waz lost forever.
From the age ov 0 to 12 most ov the Art I created waz destroyed by my Dad who didn't approve ov me being an Artist. The year he past away my family and I had gone to visit the houze to pickup our belongingz. All my visual diariez and journalz and paintingz and drawingz were in 2 big boxez in the trash. The workz were moldy and worm-eaten and faded... They seemed to hav been outside in the sun and rain without any protection for a few monthz on my return to fetch'em. I waz devestated that what I created meant so very little to a blood relative... MY Wordz, MY Art, MY Dreamz, MY Wishez, MY Heart, MY very Presense in the World,,, But thatz the way life iz for some people.
I won an Art scholarship when I waz 11 yearz old in 1989. It waz a National OZtralia wide competition and I won 1st place. That started it all. The scholarship made me realize that Art IZ My destiny and ALWAYZ will be.

Question 4: How old were you when you first started to get into Visual Arts?
Answer: Around 6 yearz ov age I started to write in journalz and diariez my mom bought for me. She would constantly say fill them with your dreamz and wishez, feelingz, memorandum, inventory ov the day. I waz alwayz busy writing and sketching. Alwayz off on my island ov imagination.
Az a kid growing up in the highly condensed suburbz ov NowhereLand AKA Perth, Western Australia, it waz really all I could do. I use to stare out above my 'Over-Protective' parentz front gate at the dark misty hillz ov the Darling Range looming ominiously to the left and visualize what hid behind them.
I would imagine and draw fantastical creaturez, mystical scapez and grotesque beingz in wait ready to capture, torture then devour me if ever I actually step foot on the otherside. That waz the beginning ov my Visual Art journey. Now yearz later... I AM that creature glaring out behind the hillz.
