Paul as scheduled to go to George Martin's London studio that day to play some demos for his Tug Of War album. He told Martin that they should keep the date because if he stayed home, he'd do nothing but cry. But they didn't get much work done, Martin said they both were numb. So they postponed the project until the next year. The press found out where Paul was and ambushed him as he left Martin's AIR London studio. That's when all Paul could say was "It's a drag".

Why doesn't anyone ever mention Julian? He was an awful father to him poor kid, John was a great singer/ songwriter, but in person he wasn't very loving and caring to his own son. Yoko was a cow and still is.

@butterp7 Nope... Paul heard the news in the morning and was so distraught he decided to go to the studio even if he had nothing to do there that day, to keep his mind busy. Later on he went back home and cried all evening and the following morning. If there was ANYONE in the woerld who totally felt John's death, it had to be Paul McCartney.

omg! i can't beleive they added John's death! when Paul came out and said "John's dead." My heart sank, i cried my head off and couldn't sleep, but now I still cry, but less, bless you John Lennon, RIP
