I think you will find that most of the books dialogue was taken from the tv scripts. Even in 1995 the last human had references to programmes which were shown about 2 years before.
Very good. I have the whole collection on dvd and have read all the books, the books in fact are much better than the show, but still love the show. backwards is also a very funny book, but have neither seen backwards or the last human as an audio book. did they create either?
I thought the whole story arc with Yvonne McGruder and Rimmer's son was quite touching. That he actually had someone who loved and idolised him, and learning this was enough to lead to his eventual redemption.
This clip strikes me more as a trailer for Series One of the show, though.
The books are brilliant. I ought to get into the habit of reading them again. It's a shameI didn't have any money to get "Backwards" when I saw it in the bookshop. Ah well, someday =)
This book is brilliant. Unfortunately I can't find the books anywhere, so I had to download the audio version. Listening to Chris Barrie reading and his impersonations is brilliant. xD
To zedsdead03 1.

Every episode is class. Even those of the latter days. The Crimson one is coming back for Red Dwarf X. Can't wait.

I love the books! They make you realise what a worm Rimmer really is!
