If you hate purling, this tip should help you. You may even find yourself preferring to purl your garter stitch, and reverse stockinette stitch in the round will be a breeze.

  • Brilliant!

  • I love this way of purling, but what do you do when you are knitting. How would you do a 2x2 ribbing?

  • This is a great help. I have been struggling learning the english way. I grew up continental but now a days patterns are all in english. so when i purl i do it this way and go back to right hand for knit. I find it works wonderful so far!

  • Oh gosh, I have been searching online trying to find a comfortable way to purl and this is definitely the most comfortable way I've tried yet, by far. Thank you so much! :)

  • Thanks so much for this; it took me a couple of long rows to get it, but you are absolutely right, it is faster and I don't dislike purling anymore, big improvement, thanks again!!!

  • Thank you! I am a novice knitter. Purling was so hard for me! I'm going to give this a try. :)
