The long awaited Shoot-out between the Canon Vixia HF200 and the Sanyo Xacti VPC-TH1.

Now available as a 60 fps H.264/AAC download via BitTorrent.

Aside from the final video encoding, NONE of the original video material has been altered in any way, not even the footage from the Canon HV20 HDV camcorder.

  • Hahaha I liked that white blob in the middle of the Sanyo one. Why does switching over to 24P fix the low light problem?

  • @GringotheHunter Recording fewer frames per second *usually* means the image sensor is given a bit more time to capture each and every frame, resulting in more light hitting the sensor. The more light the sensor can gather for each frame, the clearer the image will be in low light.

    I say *usually* because it's not impossible for a poorly designed camcorder to NOT exploit this extra time to improve the picture.

  • @MrE2727 Yep. The M300 is its direct model replacement of the HF200. It's major difference is the new touchscreen which I can't stand.

  • jajaja love the door stopper, I have the HF 200 and have nevber had a better cam and even better if you use it in manual modes.
