A special video looking at Greg Gillies, known in the professional wrestling ring under the names Dobie Gillis, Mr. Gillis and Greg Montana.

Gillis passed away suddenly on Sunday December 24th, 2007, and will be greatly missed by his peers and fans alike.

A world traveller, Gillis competed in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Lebanon and all points in between.

Sporting a physique second-to-none, Gillis was known for his hard work in the ring, his strong friendships, and unselfish willingness to impart training and knowledge to the younger generation of wrestlers.

Condolences go out to his friends and family.

  • He was a good friend of mine but we lost touch when I moved to the states. Can anybody tell me what happened with him?

  • Thankyou for posting this tribute to my Dad. I think this would have made him proud...even though he probably would not have admitted it! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU DAD! You made alot of sacrifices and turned them into HUGE accomplishments! You are missed sooooooo much everyday and it will never make sense to me. I love you and miss you way too much. Love your baby girl, xoxoxo

  • gee i thought he only fought with his dad and maynard g krebbs

  • By far one of the ECCW's best grapplers during the late 1990s. Not to mention one of the most underrated veterans of the wrestling ring throughout the entire wrestling business. We lost one hell of a good fighter. Thanks for the memorable matches Doby! You will be missed!

  • Dobie was one of my favourite guys to work with during the glory days of ECCW. He was strong enough that he could have been a bully to most of the crew, but I never heard a bad word said about the guy. Outside of the ring, he was a one of the nicest guys I've ever met who helped me out on more than one occasion. I was deeply saddened to hear that he had died and I'll remember him well.

  • R.I.P., Mr. Gillis. And thanks for the memories.
