@turnaful I believe he was aerobatting it to a nervous german pupil and overloaded the rotor which invoked a stall with the tragic ending

It is sad to hear the pilot died at a crash with this Gyro.
My deep expression of sympathy to his family and friends.
Is it known why that fatal crash happened?

depends on wind, weight, air density....... exact vertical app. 900- 1500 ft/ min, with forward speed less, depends on the speed you fly. Best speed for low gliding angle is between 60 and 70 miles.
