The History of Surfing, from the beginnings in Hawaii previous to the 17th century to Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku in the early 20th century and "haole" George Freeth who brought it to California shortly after, from where it went out to Australia and the rest of the world starting with the film Gidget in 1959 spawning surf music and a whole culture of cool connecting to the beach and surfing a wave of water ...which then became surfing a concrete wave with the Zephyr team riders like Alva, Adams and Peralta standing at the beginning of the punk/skater subculture ...at the end of the seventies surfing a wave of snow became possible thanx to Tom Sims, Jake Burton and other people behind Winterstick, Barfoot and Gnu ...over the next months there will be a bunch of videos of this story which essentially comes down to the same cool, the beach feeling and ridng a wave
