Hello I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday the 24 of September 2007.
Actress Salma Hayek is a new mom. Hayek and her fiancé François Henri Pinault welcomed a baby girl last week. They named her Valentina Paloma. She's the first baby for Hayek and the third child for Pinault...who has 2 kids from a previous marriage. The actress's publicist says mom and baby are doing great.
George Clooney and his girlfriend are recovering from injuries following a motorcycle crash. The actor and Sarah Larson were riding in a motorcycle in New Jersey on Friday when they were apparently hit by a car. Clooney was treated for a hairline fracture of a rib and his girlfriend broke her foot. Luckily they were both wearing helmets. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora is reportedly back in rehab. He apparently checked into a treatment center in Utah last week...the same facility where Lindsay Lohan is staying. This comes one month before he and Bon Jovi are expected to head on tour. It's the second time the rocker has been in rehab this year.
The zombie horror film "Resident Evil: Extinction" ruled U.S. box offices over the weekend. The movie, starring Milla Jovovich grabbed the number one spot, taking in 24 million dollars in ticket sales. At number two is "Good Luck Chuck" starring Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster came in third. That's all according to Box Office Mojo.
Big stars hit the red carpet for the premiere of "The Game Plan" yesterday. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in the film as well as Kyra Sedwick and Madison Pettis. Other cast members like Lauren Storm and Gordon Clapp attended the red carpet event as well. The movie is about a professional football player who discovers he has a daughter from a previous relationship. It hits theaters on Friday.
That's all for now. Go to upi.com for all the day's latest news and updates. Thanks for watching.
