the Thomas's in the UK are British Tank engines that happen to look kind of like Thomas painted blue with a face attached to the Smokebox. the one in Strasburg, on the other hand, is a US Tank engine that has been modified to resemble Thomas. you can tell this by the fact that it has outside Cylinders. most of the other engines seen around the country are simply un-powered replicas pushed along by another engine.

@theOlLineRebel 1. I swear I've heard a lot of people say "stupidest."
2. The Thomas in England and the Thomas at Strasburg is powered by steam. The other ones may not be powered. But the one in England and the one in Strasburg is.

Since there is no such word as "stupidest", maybe you'd better rethink that.
Why is it stupid, anyway? You asked, "what do you mean (by) powered?" I told you that what he meant is that oftentimes the Thomases are just empty dummies with no power source that need real engines coupled with them to move. I don't know how much clearer it could be. Obviously B&O guy (who would be a neighbor of mine, incidentally) didn't have a problem with UPBNSF comment about power.
it'd be so cool if his eyes moved
