That CBC Newsworld looking like the coil is from early 1991.

@toastichedu CBC Radio (Manitoba) used another song by Lee Ritenour, "Bahia Funk" for their lead-in music on Radio Noon though the 90's. I guess they were partial to his smooth jazz/up-beat tracks.

@toastichedu the voice over is done by Lee Major (not the 6 million dollar man) and he was with the CBC in Winnipeg in the 1970s. that I remember.

@RetroWinnipeg I'm 45 and I have vivid memories of seeing this in the mid 70s when I was a little boy. As for the song? that's a good question. Wish I could help you with that. But I really don't remember

@richardthewriter Was this song used on sign-ons in the 70s as well? I believe this version was used from sometime in the late 1980s through 1993.

@toastichedu hey, how far back was this? would you happen to know what year this originally aired? I mean I clearly remember this in the 70s and 80s when I was just s kid growing up in winnipeg.

@richardthewriter I seem to remember taping this in the early 1990s. But then again, this CBWT sign on had been playing for many years.
