Rider(s): Jay T. & Nicholas H.
Board: 160L Starboard Formula
Sail: 9.5 Ezzy Infinity

Nick and I windsurfing out of the Jericho Sailing Center (Vancouver, BC) on a spring thermal day. Easy cruising day in the city with snow-covered mountains as a backdrop. Can't ask for much more than that!

  • @agrelon The fall is a great season for wind but you need a car/rides down to Boundary Bay (45 min drive south)

During the summer, you can have wind almost every day in Squamish (45 minute drive north) with a solid 20 knot thermal. Jericho has formula conditions on a regular basis during the early summer months and the Gorge / Nitinat are two popular spots for a longer trip (~6h travel time).

Lots of cheap gear around, but I'd definitely suggest joining the UBC Sailing Club for their gear!

  • Cool video. I'm coming to UBC next week. I couldn't bring my board up because Aircanada doesnt do windsurfing equipment. How often do you get wind? I'm thinking of buying some new kit when I get there if the wind is decent, seeing as I'll be there for at least 4 years. Thanks for the info.
