  • Just get netflix! There is no reason to have a bunch of movies laying around. Clean it up you hoarders!

  • Nope, blu-ray is only available in widescreen. I feel you on the ratio choosing because back then loads of vhs were formatted, but then there were some in widescreen so that was a special thing. I also though the choice of ratio on dvd was intelligent before the movie even started. Either way I feel that blu-ray is way to limited on what it can do ( Though some will cuss me out on this) and should slow down a little bit.

  • HD is definitly important but discs are outdated regardlessly with nowaday's definition it just won't fit Usb like flash space is the future of games dvd's and cds and i think it's about time to make a transition

  • The GREAT thing about Blu-ray, Is most of them come with a DVD as well plus a digital copy! Hope this help you out Bro.

  • I sold my DVD collection on eBay, and now I have 380 Blu-rays. I also gave my Sony Big Screen Projection TV to my 17 year old Son for his apartment. And upgraded to the LG© 55" LED TV with TruMotion! And upgraded our DVD player to a LG© LHB335. Blu-ray/Surround Sound with IPOD Cradle! Trust me, We don't waist Money at the movies ANYMORE! Nice topic Brother! God Bless :)

  • blu-ray makes things clearer as a result, it makes cgi images more fake. and in my opinion it sucks. so i prefer dvd.

  • How time goes by in a flash!

3d all the rage now! lol.

  • @AllFractUp

Now, to answer your question. Will I upgrade my DVD collection for the next format? Not a chance. DVDs look pretty good on a HD set, especially with upconverting. They're a lot cheaper than they used to be for all but the newest releases. They're easier to archive too. I've been waiting for the next iteration of HD panels to come out that support quad HD (4 times better than 1080p or 1080i?). That just gets me frustrated having to upgrade to new formats each decade.

  • When I sold HDTVs at Sears from 2007-2009 all of their sets (SD, ED, HD) were hooked up on coax off of lots of repeater boxes. Their initial video demo quality was SD only, then a year later we got HD 720, then about a year later we got HD 1080i, and maybe some cool HD 1080p blu-ray demos from Panasonic or other companies.

We had one little copy of HD-DVD and several Blu-Ray DVDs to run as comparisons for customers. No difference in quality even with HDMI cables.

  • I agree totally. I notice this video's got some age but even now, having just watched The Godfather last night on DVD, I was wondering "would this movie really look any better on Blu-Ray?" That's my question if you could help me out matrix2k3: Have you noticed any difference in older movies (like you mentioned Jaws or The Godfather) made before HD was ever created? And even newer stuff like maybe Saving Private Ryan or something like that? T

    Thanks man.

  • @matrix2k3 that world bee cool my dude and also since your into that whole blu ray thing take a look at my channal my dude ,i do blu ray review blu ray unboxing and also blu ray updates every week so injoy and feel free to subscribe if u like blu rays

  • @dwgreatest yeah theres no real need to change to the newer discs. I guess if theres a favorite movie maybe but with the upconversion its more then enough

  • @dwgreatest all the tech sites I go to say theres no need to get a high end cable if the sorce and the tv is less then 10 feet

  • ive noticed 1080p movies playback at lower framerates of 24fps compared to normal dvd movie. for example american werewolf in london the soundtrack and voice was slower pitch than the dvd version. so am i hearing it as it was intended or not. also the soundtrack blue moon at the end sounded different to the original and was slower. anybody care to explain to me? with older movies played back at 24fps in 1080p am i hearing unatural slow audio. whats the score

  • @BroyhillVideo yes.. 1080p will soon... a new type of tv is been released.. its a 600Hz tv lol

  • @matrix2k3 what... in this instance it didnt change at a fast pace.. HD & blu-rays took nearly 10-15 years in development... micro chips on the other hand, change nearly every 6mouths without fail... thats what really pissed me off lol

  • yeh right!!. the dearer the cables are the more info that can travel down those cables... & the gold plated cables are the best cause gold conducts better than metal! :)

    peace :)

  • @matrix2k3 hahahahhaha thats right man.

  • @alienwarelaptop100 hahahaha you know what they say "King Kong aint got nothing on me"

  • Dude!

When i saw your video still i thought it's Barack Obama talking about PS3 resolution lol.

But hey! It didn't take me long to figure it's you Denzel W!

  • you talk to much get a life sorry...

  • @FFrobvandam if you are worried about over heating why risk it? I mean 720 is still pretty good.
