I remember the day very well when they went country. To me it was inconcievable that the hippest and best station that ever graced the Bay Area airwaves would do such a thing. The Day The Music Died II as far as I was concerned. Since then there still hasn't been station around here that could hold a candle to "The Jive 95" of those days. Damn suits!
People put cow dung in the doorway of this station when it changed format: still somewhat hip album rock (formerly very hip free-form legend) to a country music station. Too bad someone who really gets the concept can't revive free-form for today's music and listeners.
Wrong KSAN....Not the Jive 95.....

I remember that commercial, though I don't think I ever listened to more than five minutes of that station.

KSAN and KPFA were absolutely the hippest followed very closely by Gilroy's KFAT.

Less BULL? That's all they had.
Music died when the Jive 95 went under.
