I was just a little kid but I remember this song (and Gogi) when it first came out. I'm not much on nostalgia for nostalgia's sake but it's nice to see someone like that still performing and enjoying making folks happy. Also not having to hear "motherf****r" shouted out over a sea of shakin' bootys is refreshing. It may have been a naive era but it had more class than a lot of the crap that passes for entertainment today.

I want to crack jokes, but I love this song too much and her voice is still good for 80. The Wikipedia says she is still performing. Good Lord. Then again, Betty White is still doing it.

Gogi Grant, you rock! I watched this performance on PBS, and it was spellbinding. This song always makes me weepy, for it makes me think of my father's difficult upbringing. It's a song for the ages, that's for sure.

Seeing the older ladies singing along, to me; is very touching. It really shows the power of music, to make you feel the way you did when you first heard it.
