Snook off the beach. September Mullet run 2008. Fort Lauderdale Florida. Shot with Leica D-Lux 3 VGA movie mode. Best time of the year for beach Snook action. Its all about the bait. Easiest way to tell if the fishing is going to be any good is look and see if the pelicans are diving in the shallow shore break.

  • nice fattie... hollah if you come to Puerto Rico !

  • All the good bait videos are on my channel. Happy Bait.

  • Thats real lunker fishing. Hogleg and 20lb test from the beach. Happy Bait. What a Leica?

  • i love releasing a beach snook..i get right there in the water with them , they always bite down on my thumb as i try to get water into their gills, its so cool because you can feel how strong their jaws are, but the bigger ones make it hard for me to get my thumb back! they'll usually just sit there until i pull my thumb out..also, beach snook have those pretty lighter colors..i'm used to those darker canal/pass/river dwelling snooks.

  • cpt. jeff doesn't catch that "line" sider bullshit, that mane is haulin' up striped siders, straight up logs

  • but if you are going to use a lure, i get my biggest ones on lures that look just like a mullet and if i am going to use a lure i prefer a big one fished fairly slow near the bottom..also most of the water i fish is dark, stained water so i like a darker bait..beach fishing i go lighter colors but always natrual and always mullet looking in appearance.

  • i think he was using live finger mullet...but i've caught em that size on lures...you should be able to land a snook like that on 15-20 lb test and a good leader easily if you fight em right

  • What did you use to catch that snook?

    # test? Bait or lure?

  • not bad man!
