The true story of Harold Bride, the Titanic's Assistant Telegraph Operator.

http://www.JKiltsFilms.com/the-last-signals

The script to this was pieced together using hundreds of sources- his first hand accounts (which are contradicting, I might add), his testimonies to the American and British courts, reports done by Walter Lord (noted Titanic author), studies of the wreck site, and dozens of others.

This film is 2 years in the making. Everything was paid for out of our own pockets, and the film has been a labor of love since the start. I started making this film while I was in High School. There are two versions of this- a 45 minute film featuring the story of the ship and Harold Bride's incidents, and then an hour and 45 minute version detailing more about the ship as well as what happens to Harold Bride in New York. The 45 minute short is in the final stages and will be finished shortly. The feature length version is scheduled to be finished in time for the 100th Anniversary in April, 2012.

Some details about this trailer and the history you might notice in it:

*From 0:29-0:33, the only known photograph of the Titanic's telegraph room is seen being taken. After contacting a museum in Ireland about the photographer, we found out what he was wearing and even the camera model he had! These are shown in the clip.

*At 0:33, the drink on the table is seen subtly shaking. That's because that's about all that might have been felt by the telegraph operators. There was no violent shaking in their area when the Titanic hit the iceberg.

*Captain Smith's lines throughout the trailer are word for word what he said to Bride and Phillips, however, the "Abandon Your Cabin" line came a bit after him talking about the bulkheads, and are properly separated in the feature film.

*The stoker that the operators are seen fighting with had a darkened face. Apparently, he was so dark from the suit of the boilers that Harold Bride mistook him to be an African.

*Also seen in the stoker fight, Phillips loads a revolver. While there is no solid evidence that either of them were armed, one of the first stories about the fight claimed that Phillips shot the stoker dead. This is a reference to that.

*At 1:25, the machines are seen exploding. According to studies of the wreck, there is strong evidence that the machines, all with strong electric currents in them, violently exploded when washed out.

*1:46- only in the background, a subtle reference to Officer Lightoller's 'repetitive' struggling with the air vents on his escape is seen by an officer getting sucked down by a fidley vent.

*For the last 10 or so seconds of video, Bride is seen with a cigarette in his mouth. I hate depicting smoking, but Bride was a heavy smoker and died of lung cancer later in life.

*2:04, the book "Tom Swift and his Wireless Message" is seen being closed. This is a personal favorite book of mine, and I put this in the movie for my own reasons haha. There is nothing to make it inaccurate, however. Bride is of the age of the target audience for the book, it's relevant to him, and the book came out a year before the film. We also had a printer make a custom reprint of the first edition dust jacket to make it looked EXTRA authentic ;)

*At 2:07, a tray of eclairs and tea is seen in the foreground. The tea cups are authentic Titanic design, and the eclairs were intended to be made using the original White Star Line recipe.

*For the last ten second narration by Harold Bride, the actual telegram he sent to his fiance after the disaster is read of.

For more details, you'll have to wait for the actual movie :D
