  • @huntr420 Hi huntr420, 60# is the lowest I use for casting and like 80 to 100 for trolling. Always braid for the main line and 100# fluorocarbon leader for both. Set your drag down as tight as it will go with out forcing it and when trolling a big musky will still slip the drag. Stay under power until you get the rod out and then go to neutral and back off your drag a little. Don't play with a muskie. The quicker you can get them in the net the more likely you are to land it and it will survive

  • do you have to use 100 percent fluorcarbon or can it just say flourocarbon on pack and not 100 percent will that work for musky and what lowest pound line you use for musky
