Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavs may be leaving money on the table as an endorser -- and he's fine with that. Michele Steele reports.

One of the many reasons I love the Mavs, they never have been a team of players who care about the money more than the game.

He does the bank commercial for the German National Basketball Team. Of course they would not sponsor them if Dirk wasn't the pitchman of the campaign. I also heard that he pays (at least part of) the fee for the insurance the Mavs demand in order to release him for international play. So, financially the international play gives him nothing but there are things you can't buy w/ money, e.g. participating in the olympics.
As far as I know, the Sprite commercial was like a decade ago.

why does every american call him "derk" come on dirk is an easy german name to pronounce, just say the word "deer" with a k at the end^^

dirk was invited to "schloss bellevue", the german version of the white house, and received one of the highest honours from the german president. he took the taxi to get there. after the ceremonies there were apparantly not enough limos arranged to take all the guests home. dirk took the bus together with his family.
