yes. processsed sugar causes diabetes youre right. But thats because people eat it in excess, not that somehow it is a poison to us.
It becomes a problem because western people are greedy and lazy and stuff their face, do not cook fresh food and do no exercise. Then they wonder why they got diabetes and demand that doctors find them "a cure".
Very silly really. But keeps capitalism going.

religion isnt a delusion, its a faith. faith is not necessarily mind control. critical thinking is an inherited ability to do with intelligence, its not necessarily something all people can learn.

yes, right. please check out diabetes type 2, how it happens, and how the numbers are growing. Sugar is in terms of numbers with alcohol the biggest additiction agent in the world. Sugar, as a chemical ingredient, is necessary in some forms for humans. But in the forms in which you can find it in your local supermarket on 3 olympic sized shelves, its just very very bad.

EVERY religion practises mind control! If they can feed you fantasies and fairy tales about invisible omnipotent deities from the sky and YOU BELIEVE IT UNQUESTIONINGLY, how is that NOT coercive and controlling?

Just because it's a delusion suffered by millions doesn't make it less delusional, it only means that far more people are gullible and uneducated enough to fall for it.

We need to bump up our educational standards and teach people critical thinking...THAT might finally fix things.

A number of popes and Oliver Cromwell did ban Christmas. Sugar is added to a whole range of foodstuffs for no reason other than to addict people - sugar = bad teeth, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure. Primates have a digestive system designed to break down carbs and starches from fruits and vegetables into their sugars, not designed for processed sugar. Hence WHO advice on cutting sugar intake.

sugar isnt bad. nor is it addictive. primates need it to maintain their blood-sugar level.

If the religion is coersive and practices mind control (like cults)then that is harmful and you could prosecute the religios leaders on that basis. But if the religion does not practice mind control, then it is not harmful, nor is such worship/faith considered an addiction. So no, it cant be banned on a non-harmful basis. It would be akin to banning celebrating christmas .

@MoonAharshMistress your social expereience is im afraid to say completely limited to your own perspective. Whereas a scientist is paid to conduct experiments, test drugs and also research the impact on a larger reflective social circle.
