Nothing special? He leads all rookies with 19 points in 21 games so far and he is getting better with every game. While I agree he won't get 100 points this year, he already has 9 goals so 30+ is a real possibility if he stays healthy.

watching tavares for a while. all i can say that he really needs to bulk up. he should start doing it now while hes still young.

well islanders got an awesome player.. 35 points so far in hes first NHL team. i belive he will be better and better, and be a "malkin" "crosby" "ovechkin" player soon ;) just hope the islander gett him a playmate... maybe should try pick Taylor Hall or Mikael Granlund next draft ;)

Look, I'm as big a fan of Tavares as anoyone, but labeling the kid the next Gretzky is way premature. He needs better players around him. Just like Gretz had Messier, Kurri, Lowe, Fuhr, Moog, Coffey, Anderson, Tikkanen, Fogolin, Krushelnyski, etc. to make him better, John Tavares also needs a more impressive team around him before any comparisons are made.
