  • PS do your bubble come over your face? Mine often do. I don't see any in your video. Is it because the bubbles were edited out?

  • @gillettecrackers With my regulator, bubbles tend to go on the side of the mask. But even so when they pass it makes the footage shake. So when I am shooting, I try to control my breathing. If I am still, I hold my breath and if I am moving, I exhale slowly so it doesn't shake much.

  • How well do you think it'd work if I bought this and used it like a regular camera/camcorder? I'd wear a different mask and hold this one in my hand. Or is it more like a secondary camcorder for non-photography or night dives (in case you see something interesting)?

  • @gillettecrackers In your hands NO. It takes a little trial an error and a couple of dives to get good at holding your head steady with a good framing when you are recording. The mask is very good anyways. And the side lights can serve you even when you are not recording. But pictures with this mask are not very good.

  • Great video! What was the depth? I'm thinking of getting the 320 or the next version, what are the pros/cons for this camera mask? Again, love the video.

  • @gason5 I have answered your questions, and gave a review of the mask by putting new comments under the video for you.

  • Very interesting! I especially like picture when the crab eats smt like grass at 5:40-6:10

  • I will probably buy the wide angle mask also so I can toggle bmask between dive to have more diverses footage. This one is great for filming wild life. The other one will be best for landscape and divers.

I love this mask, but you must not expect video as stable as an external video camera. I still have to test it in the water but maybe I can achieve a more stable image by putting my hands on each side of my face to try to immobilize my head. I will test it at my next diving trip.

  • I must say that this mask was at his best while night filming as there were no ambient bluish luminosity so the colors were incredible. At day the light brings out some colors at near distance but as little to no effect at greater distance.

  • You learn to control your respiration while filming because big bubbles causes shaking. You learn that crisp footage is achieve at near distance (macro-like). It loses its HD feeling at medium distance and become a blurry in the distance. You become better at framing your subjects which is quite difficult at first.

  • This was a dive at about 40 feet.

The best part of this mask is to be able to record a movie without comprising your diving experience. You have free hands and you see with your own eyes what you are filming instead of seeing it thru a tiny LCD viewer. The more you dive with the mask, the better your footage become.
