Wood glue comes in several varieties, and it can be tricky finding the right one for your job. Tim Carter of AsktheBuilder.com describes his favorite glue and a few other types. Wood glue is just one type of many different types of glue to use on your project. The most versatile is the carpenters glue or it is also known as yellow glue. There is a glue out there for your particular need. Watch this AsktheBuilder.com video for details on just a few wood glue types.

  • @Ryanty12 Thanks for your comment. I went to your channel and couldn't find one uploaded video. You seem to know about this topic. Why don't you take the time to tape a video showing us your method of applying Gorilla Glue and the finished product? Share your knowledge that way. That's what YouTube is for - videos, not a 1990's forum with just words.

  • @EnigmaXII White glue works fine for paper onto wood. Wood glue works well too.

  • @AsktheBuilder Thank you! Really appreciate it! :)

  • @AsktheBuilder When gluing paper onto wood, would I use wood glue or regular glue? And what about a toy figure onto wood? (Its for art project)

  • @Ryanty12 burnt

  • i like your videos builder guy. do you have any suggestions for a glue that i can use "after" i stain the wood. i find that with my small projects staining them after they're together can become cumbersome, so i want to try to glue them together "after" they're stained. do you know of any glue that won't run or drip as it dries, or am i just going to make things harder on myself this way?

  • i gonna fix my cricket bat

  • I want to build a platform bed, and I'm thinking about using some kind of flat board on a base, then gluing planks side by side on top of the flat board. I'm looking for a very tight look. Would this glue work for that purpose?

  • Go to a hardware store with a printout of my answer to you. Or take notes there of what I said.
