Or, starting or getting involved in wars that spur work, I suppose. That doesn't always work and is ethically unthinkable, however.

We have the money now, people just like to pretend that we don't. NASA hasn't made significant effects on the economy in the last ten years, and it's also been longer since people have gone anywhere more significant than geosynchronous orbit. I honestly think that politics and economics are too fuzzy and uncontrolled to draw any good causal relationships from retrospective analyses, but getting people excited about science and increase in technology are the best ways to fix any economy.

Name one, just one significant thing in the past ten years NASA has done to stimulate our economy. Honestly it's not going to create another Tech boom, that already happened. I think space exploration is a good thing, but we need to get the government back on track before it's a priority. Back in the 60's we had the money to spend to start space/science programs. We don't have that money now. Find something to cut and then fill it in with space exploration.

You are incorrect sir. You see, there are things about space exploration that we can figure out....

Space exploration stimulates the economy. Our country will fall behind if we do not continue to explore the most fundamentally important questions of our existence.
