Thought thats a black Butterfly? Because the split in the tail? i had one just like it and they said it wasn't a moor because the tails different

@kelzybub306 All telescope eye fancies that are all black are considered moors. Tails, finnage and size do vary based on traits picked up through cross breeding. So you do have broadtail, butterfly tail, and veiltail varities within the moors. Mine actually are broadtails, which also can have a split tail. Butterfly fancies tend to have shorter tails (which when viewed from the top resemble butterfly wings).

hey i have the same dragon ornament, did you buy that at petland, nice fishes... I want to buy some oranda black goldfish but i need a divider, because I have Bolvian ram cichlids, later.

@VieTRaVeR I got it at petsmart, but took it out when the guys got bigger. Just a note I wouldn't put any other fish in the same tank with goldfish(even with a divider), because goldfish put out a lot of waste that other fish can't handle in the water. Mine are 7"-8" now and orandas get larger than moors and fantails.

Hi, your aquarium looks great and your black moor's look very happy and healthy. I have a black moor myself but he is very small. I just got him recently and he is usually happy during the day, but he also oddly stays in a vertical position facing the gravel floating. he slowly moves his fins to move around as he floats.... You appear to have experience with them and i wonder if you have any knowledge on whats happening with my goldfish. Is this just a phase?
Thank You

@MissAudacious501 Thank you, and no it is not a phase. If your fish swims normally during the day fancy goldfish do "rest" where they barely move and float in place, sometimes with their head facing down. Goldfish are also scavenger eaters too, sifting through gravel so intently that they do so vertically. My fish are all still doing well, my Moors are now 3yrs old @ 8" and 7.5", and white( or silver) fantail is about a year @ 8" (dragon no longer in tank).
