Its funny because we were the last ones out of the Great Depression while Japan got out in one year. FDR extended the great depression by 10 years. In 1907 America had a stalk market crash larger then any before it, but we got out of it in 2 months because the government didn't do anything except liquidate the assets then distribute them.

Coming from Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The biggest traitor to hold public office, a true opponent of American values and the Constitution. Roosevelt was a smooth-talking politician who gained office with his silver tongue, abused the system, and did little to nothing to fix the economy. We should erase him from the history books, the guy is a creep.

@MoralDeQue or the republicans have a good PR campaign that caters to people's irrational fears. tax breaks for the rich have been proven not to do a damn thing.
-
Also, two years later they lost NUMEROUS seats to Republicans.
Why would that be?
Bad policies pehaps.

GWB Did support programs I call him out on, but people tend to forget what happened the last 2 years of his 2nd term. Full Democrat control of both House and the Senate. With such control of what gets passed, how did GWB do so much damage? Did the Dems choose not to stop Bush when they could have? Why? Maybe they were the ones with the policies hurting the nation, you think? A full Dem Congress GOES a LONG way to keeping the Pres. playing their way, or not at all. ;D

Look up the Rubber Room debacle in NYC. That was one of the biggest causes of the outrage--Them still being paid yet sitting in a room doing practically nothing waiting for dismissal (pushed back due to Teacher's Union involvement.) Of all the complaints they'd get very few would be fired.

FDR was by far one of the best Presidents we had. As a Republican, I find it hard to agree with his big government policies, BUT I do because that is what America needed at the time, and it worked. He did a great job of turning around the nation and I wish we could have him back today. He'd get stuff done instead of catering to special interests like our current president.

@MoralDeQue so whoever is in office is automatically to blame? the problems that GWB put in made a slingshot. obama is trying to balance plates. using your logic, then whoever is at the scene of the accident is automatically at fault for it.
-
@MoralDeQue how do you know that they were paid without teaching?

FDR: "WARNING ABOUT TODAY'S REPUBLICANS" the only thing that would make you conclude this is your own bias and indoctrination. Today's GOP has nothing to do with the GOP of the 30s, FDR is alleging the Republicans suggest they will do a better job running the New Deal; today's Republicans want to scrap outright the "Obama Deal:"
I wasn't there when the speech was made, but my father and mother were there. They were republicans, but voted for FDR because they knew he was right. The depression would have been much worse had the programs not been implemented. The infrastructure at the time was a disaster except for the trains, which we unfortunately abandoned. If we still had them as they did then we might not be so dependent on oil. Like Obama, he was dealt a really bad hand taking office and did the best he could.

Do you want the Republican Congress to help the country. Here is how:
Farm Subsidies...GONE, Afghanistan, YOU'RE FIRED. Iraq, YOU'RE FIRED, Egypt, YOU'RE FIRED, Mexico, YOU'RE FIRED. Pakistan, YOU'RE FIRED. Isreal, YOU HAVE 5 DAYS TO CLEAN OUT YOUR DESK. YOU'RE FIRED.
I just saved the country about 50 billion dollars in less than three minutes. But then again the Republicans don't have the balls to do anything unless it deals with abortion, flag burning or gay marriage.
