and if you have the audacity to turn the television off, all you're doing is switching to the sixth channel -- and the sixth channel only has one show - and that's a blank screen reflecting you on your couch, sitting there with your dull vacant eyes - and you don't want to see that - and I don't want to see that - so we keep the set switched on.
