The Catholic theologian Karl Rahner famously said "the Christian of tomorrow will be a mystic, or not a Christian at all." Few people have impacted Christianity in this regard as has Fr. Thomas Keating. A Cistercian monk from St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado, Fr. Thomas has spent a lifetime in deep Christian practice, and in sharing the fruits of this contemplation with countless others. We were enormously blessed to host a dialogue with Fr. Thomas and Ken Wilber in April of 2006. In today's featured video, Ken presents some of the foundational concepts of Integral spirituality.

I am frustrated. I am waiting for this person, this I amness, to let the other man in the monk's uniform who has been sitting patiently (spiritually), to say something. Isn't it said that if you thing you know something then you know nothing? I think this is true. Has he had a religious experience? Or is he only good at spinning words?
I have been doing psychic readings for many years. Religious programming goes deeper than just our religious upbringing. I have seen "spirits" that believe themselves to be angels or demons, but my intuition tells me they are deluded. Not sure if there are "real" demons or angels, anything is possible.
I have dabbled with some shamanism, but have not used drugs. Where do I get this ayahusca? Any evidence of permanent brain damage? I have read that LSD doubles psychic ability but have not wanted to risk taking it. The other thing I would say is that you can learn to go into a trance without drugs, it just takes a little meditation. Is this drug only useful for entering a trance state, or what affect does it have?
There are things that your brain just doesn't DO without the serotonin system stimulation that lysergic acid and psilocin provide. Ask anyone that's ever tried psychedelics and they'll all agree, afterward it feels like your brain has been on overdrive. It "switches on" certain parts of the brain that generally only function in the background. There is no good evidence that traditional (serotonergic) psychedelics cause damage unless they are taken (like any other drug) in excessive quantity.
I've learned a lot from Thomas Keating the monk you are refering to ... He's deep contemplative. I think one who keep Ken centered & in place... with no disrespect to Ken who like to yap a lot.
Blah blah blah. The problem is not religion, but the commune of faker-thieves. War would end everywhere if public figures like Wilber. and fans like Gore and Clinton, told the truth about US tax-funded war-mongering that goes on in the name of "religion." CIA creations like Taliban and Al Qaeda... Too much money in the false flag war biz to quit the gig, huh? What a sick fraud. Et tu, Father Keating?
