Even if the spirit of fire didn't pick him he would've been obviously pushed by the doors of the gate and getting locked there too.

Using the logic of the anime with real world he's the best shaman/samurai/boxer fighter/karate fighter/Muay Thai fighter/pysicotic.

Being able to ressurrect 500 to 500 years having more than 1.000.000 furykyu, auto back fire most attacks without even thinking about it, teletransporting without chaos control you don't think he's the best, it's a fact: He IS really the best.
