poverty...wars...lies, etc...these are nnot unique to present day, but rather, they have been as long as mankind. and they have nothing to do with the supposed return of God. when will "christ"ians stop using that as an excuse to do NOTHING???

By saying that there will be poverty and "the great kingdom of god is close" we cannot wipe out our hands. In order to enter in to that great kingdom we have to do our part by joining hands to eliminate the poverty beyond any national, cultural or religious boundaries. Is it worthy to spend billions of money and of human days efforts for invention of novel weapons for mass destructions and for huge military force to protect our stupid imaginary national boundaries??

Please look around you. More than 75% of Earth's resources are unexplored. Miles and miles of land is lying baron, no one is cultivating it and no one gives a fuck to what happens to this world. India always has a surplus of food grain every year. So the planet can sustain much more than what is currently on it. Its just that the people in power should be willing to share the bounties that they are sitting on.

You are right, but there is a big population over there. It is slowly digging itself out of it. But overall in the world with about 6.5 billion people, earth is unable to handle the capacity. To sustain life successfully on this blue planet, the population needs to be between 500 million to 1 billion for everyone to be happy. With the current rise in population, we are not going to be successful in ending poverty...which is pretty sad. All we can do is try to help as many as we can.
