Let's get this straight everyone. If people weren't looking for looks, we would have music today.

Other stuff that many people call music is laterally garbage. Let's look at todays top artists, Souljaboy? Little Wane? I'm not going through this, but it's "POPULAR" music is focusing on looks and NOT the talent of music. And most of all, American Idol isn't helping at all because people vote for the people with the best look, not the best "artist!"

When it comes to music, use ears, not eyes!!!

BTW, regarding Taylor Hicks-- he made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon not too long ago, singing "Friday" with Jimmy and Stephen Colbert. (Yes, the crappy Rebecca Black song "Friday". :-()

The only reason I ever watch that show, is the auditions, but now that Simon is gone, I hate this show completely now.

I noticed this year, people are praising Crystal Bowersox (thanks to her rendition of "People Get Ready"), but I have a feeling she might lose to Lee in the finals, yet still be more popular than him... it seems like that happens all the time on AI, doesn't it?

lol America likes to cast English guys as evil. Lots of American films have the main villain as an English guy. It's a stereotype thing, probably based on the accent, the perceived intelligence of posh english people etc... I don't really know.

Anway, American Idol is a really negative show, that only rewards 'kiss ass' people with generic voices. The judges are all horrible, condescending low lifes, with too much ego and money.

american idol is a piece of shit reality show! its unoriginal, most of the people on the show are dickholes, and its just, plain out, boring.

if you guys want to see a good reality show, i recommend you watch xmen.

its a korean reality show where people just have fun, be goofy, laugh, and play various activities. the people on the show are actually funny and not prick assholes like simon or ryan from AI!

I think American Idol is okay, though it gets tiring after some time watching it. My mother only watches the tryouts poprtion just for the laughs.

But I think The Bachelor is WAAAYYY worse than American Idol IMO.
