Here is a short video I took of the interior of the Cedar Point Coliseum Ballroom on Memorial Day 2008. This ballroom meeting room is located directly above the main arcade on the second floor. The ballroom has a great nostalgic art deco look to it and is beautiful in its design. The ballroom was host to many name big bands in the 1940s. Thanks so much for watching!

GREAT video. I grew up in Elmore and my most favorite thing was to attend the Saturday night Cedar Point Ballroom performances. I recall The Glen Miller Band, The Four Freshman, Louis Armstrong, and The Tommy Dorsey Band. Fabulous atmosphere with the balcony overlooking the amusement park. The adjacent miniature golf course was decorated with blinking lights in the overhead trees. In the early evening there was a fireworks display.

A MAGICAL experience in an enchanting place.

  • MsGracieCatherine .

I know that now, the doors are almost always open every time I come there in the summer! My friends and I love to go in there and just sit in the middle of the floor and imagine what it must have been like to hear one of the old-school, big bands play there. I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I think I almost hear the old music echoing throughout that beautiful, huge room..

I know my dad used to go up there and see some of the big bands back in the thirties and forties. It's such a great nostalgic place! Thanks so much for watching.

Great video! I was able to get into the ballroom to take a look in 2009. I checked out Cedar Point's website and there was a page with activities for senior citizens that invited people to come in and take a peek. That page doesn't seem to be there anymore. I'm going to try again this Monday when I'm at the park. I too had been curious about what the inside looked like as I had heard about the history of it. Essentially the ballroom kept Cedar Point alive.

I'm grateful for your video. My grandfather, Leo Kathe, designed this ballroom and did all the landscape design for the gardens as well. It is great to see the interior. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for the info. Yep, I was so surprised to have been able to go in and take a look. I wanted to my whole life and the place used to fascinate me as a kid from the outside. I guess I got real lucky that day. Thanks so much for watching this video!

I'm not sure if they still do shows or book music performances in there. I'll have to try and find out. That would be great if they still do. It looks like they have convention meetings or large gatherings or something like that judging by the chairs that were set up when I took the video. Thanks so much for commenting on and watching this video. Very much appreciated!
